diesdiscordia:

My lovely beautiful comic books.

Not everything, 5-10 books being borrowed/misplaced, got a few singles (Phonogram, bin-bags of some guys 2000AD) but this is the most in one place at one time.

Also this is just a small fraction of the comics I’ve read, most being borrowed from friends/library, or downloads.

Check out dat Bone, Love & Rockets, Preachers, Black Hole, Pride Of Baghdad, The Filth, Umbrella Academy, Northlanders, Transmet, GODDAMN BATMAN, Eddie Campbell, Scott Pilgrim, Persepolis, Neil Gaiman, etc

Need to acquire the rest of all those incomplete series, esp Love & Rockets, Transmet, Northlanders and 100 Bullets. Also Y: The Last Man, Habibbi, Promethea, KING CITY and Invisibles Omnibus.

I swear half the time I spend with our comics consists of organizing and facing them.

I just appreciate our stuff so much more when it’s nice and neat and organized…

Sorted some stuff out today so everything’s in the right place.  And hopefully, with The Doctor protecting them, folks will keep put everything they borrow back correctly!

Asides from boredom, comic books and graphic novels are probably my biggest inspiration for drawing really, especially old comic style, the lines, the curves etc and not a block in sight. That Doesn’t mean I don’t like new comics though, no no no, but personally i just like the nostalgia look of old captain america or Robert Crumb comics.
However my favorite art comes form JUDGE DREDD (if you couldn’t tell by my icon) which really influences my work, just the various styles of the artists, some even avoiding the typical realistic style and doing it more cartoony, which i like.
Here is just a glimpse of my collection, and thats just one shelf! there’s a lot more where that came from across the room!

30 Day Reading Challenge Day 02 A book that you’ve read more an three times: A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore
I’ve probably read this closer to 10 times rather than three. It is an amazingly funny book about people that transfer the souls of the dead that have imbued themselves in object. For all its great comedic writing it touches on grieving and loss with awesome sincerity. It is one of my easy favourites of Christopher Moore’s work and I can’t recommend it enough.

Nobody’s perfect. Well, there was this one guy, but we killed him…
